Medeama insists they have not concluded the signing of midfielder Kwame Boahene despite the player agreeing to personal terms.

Reports were rife earlier this week the former Liberty Professionals player had joined the MTN FA Cup holders as a free agent.

This was after the offensive midfielder refused to sign a contract extension after his three-year spell with the Dansoman-based side ended after the Premier League campaign.

Boahene has now held fruiful talks with the Mauves and an agreement has been reached but the 19-year-old is yet to be confirmed as a Medeama signing with doubts over his free agent status still lingering.

“Kwame Boahene's own is not conclusive,” Medeama's Public Relations Officer Stephen Pennah told Accra-based Radio Gold.

“He came to Tarkwa last Wednesday and held discussions with the Preisdent (Moses Armah) and everything went well.

“He claims he is a free agent so he has been asked to produce documentation to that effect.

“So he is to produce confirmation of his floating status and then the deal can be signed as he has agreed the number of years and his salary.

“So the only thing left now is for him to prove he is truly a free player and then we sign the deal.”

The ball-holding midfielder will become the first official signing of the Tarkwa-based side ahead of the upcoming season.

Medeama want to fortify their squad ahead of their maiden participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Boahene was a member of the Ghana U20 squad which won silver at the 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria.
