Management of the National Vocational Training Institute, NVTI, says all is being done to ensure the Institute's certificates are recognised by all educational institutions.
Director of the NVTI, Stephen Bismark Amponsah who spoke to Ultimate radio's Bernard Buachi explained that though NVTI qualifications are mainly to make graduates self-employed, his outfit is working closely with the National Board for Professional and Technician Examination, NABTEX to ensure that NVTI graduates are able to further their education in other institutions of higher learning.
'The mandate given to the NVTI is to look at all workers at the shop floor of industry and to make sure they are highly qualified and able to perform. NVTI qualification is also targeted at self-employment. This is what we've done since 1970. But we always also try to open opportunities for further learning', he said.
The Director's response follows a revelation by some graduates of NVTI schools that they were having difficulties pursuing further studies with their certificates because it is not recognised by the various tertiary institutions in the country.
The NVTI Director however wants graduates of NVTI centres to relax since his outfit is almost through with a Memorandum of Understanding to get them recognised by all institutions of higher learning in the country.
