Four GFA Exco members get CAF appointments

Accra, May 21, GNA - Six Ghanaians have been appointed to serve on the standing committees of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the period 2013-2015.

The sextet include four members of the GFA Executive Committee; Emmanuel Kyeremeh, Fred Crentsil, Felix Ansong and George Afriyie got the approval of the CAF Executive Committee to serve on the respective committees at the latter's meeting in Cairo, Egypt at the weekend.

The other two are Francis Oti Akenteng and legal luminary, Anin Yeboah.

Information gathered by GNA Sports indicates Kyeremeh, bankroller of Berekum Chelsea will serve on the Audit Committee; Crentsil on the Organising Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN); Ansong has been named on the Women's Football Committee and Afriyie for the Marketing and Television Committee.

Oti Akenteng, Technical Director of the GFA has been drafted unto the Technical and Development Committee while Yeboah is on the Appeal Board.     

The new persons join GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, Alhaji Mohamed Nuru Deen Jawula, Former Director General of the National Sports Authority Wolanyo Agra and retired referee Louis Laryea who retained their places following the reconstitution of the sub-committees of the continental football governing body.

Nyantakyi, also a member of the CAF Executive Committee since February 2011, has added responsibilities on the Media Committee where he serves as Vice Chairman, Committee for Fair Play and Social Responsibility which he will chair as well as the Organising Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Jawula has been retained on the Inter-Clubs Committee and Agra for the Legal Affairs Committee.

Former GFA President Ben Koufie has lost his place on the Technical and Development Committee just as Hilda Addah on the Women's Football Committee.
