Medeama's title hopes took a major blow following a 3-0 defeat to fellow contenders, Berekum Chelsea on Sunday at the Golden City Park.
The defeat leaves the Tarkwa side, who were level on points with Chelsea before kick off drop off the pace by three points with three matches to go in the Glo Premier League.
Goals from Obed Owusu, Bosson Landry and a Joseph Ato-Bissah penalty gave the Berekum side a deserved win as Medeama had Eric Enchill sent off for an off the ball incident.
For Chelsea, it represents a big stride in their title pursuit as they reclaim the summit, two points clear of Asante Kotoko, who drew.
