19 Swimmers Selected…For National Team

After a keenly contested swimming contest at Legon in Accra over the weekend, 19 swimmers who excelled in their respective events in the   Loya Accra Open championship have been roped into the national team.

Close to 100 juvenile swimmers from across the country engaged in the one day championship.

The selected swimmers were Kow Asafua Jackson, Mawunyo Ackuoku, Kelvin Bossman, India Agyeman, Kelly Shooter, Chelsea Degraft Ackun, Mawuli Ackuoku, Ryan Degraft Ackun, Eyram Shabashie, Kwesi Abbiw Jackson and Zenobia Addo.

The rest were Delphine Shooter, Joachim Ofosuhene-Wise, Rhudii Quaye, Kwaku Addo, Ralph Quaye, Mawuena Ackuoku, Ophelia Swayne and Abeiku Gyekye Jackson.

Dubbed Loya Accra Open, the event was arranged by Promasidor Ghana Limited, producers of Loya Milk aimed at unearthing talents and for ranking purposes.

The selected swimmers are expected to participate in the FINA International Swimming competition, and the African Juniors championship scheduled for Egypt and the World Juniors in Dubai.

They battled for honours in 50m freestyle, 50m back and breast strokes, 50m butterfly, 4x50m medley and 4x50m freestyle relay.

Those who excelled received medals, Loya Milk products and souvenirs from Promasidor Ghana Limited.
