Unable to challenge for the premiership title, Amidaus Professionals and Aduana Stars will meet in the quarter-final of the MTN FA Cup with their eyes fixed on the semi.

Both sides have fallen off the pace in the title race but on Saturday, the Cup competition offers the victor a measure of redemption for their failures.

Amidaus will welcome Aduana to the Tema Stadium in the first quarter-final clash of the FA Cup before three more matches come off the next day.

After avoiding each other in the last eight pairing, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will get to action against second-tier sides who are equally eager to reach the semis.

Kotoko, losing finalist two season's ago will play Eleven Wise in Kumasi in a match which the Sekondi side have sounded their intent on causing an upset.

"An upset is possible and we are going to play football. They are a good side but we are preparing very well.

"If Kotoko wins it's no news but if we win, that will be big news," said Angelo Arkhurst Dedon, a former Kotoko player who now coaches Wise.

At the Accra Sport Stadium, a resurgent Hearts of Oak take on Division One outfit Gold Stars. Having beaten AshantiGold so impressively in the last round, Gold Stars will fancy their chances of reaching their first ever FA Cup semi-final.

But the Phobians who are all but out of the running for the league are looking to placate their fans after a poor start to the season with victory in the FA Cup.

Current Premier League leaders Medeama play Heart of Lions in a game that could go either way.

But for Medeama, progress in the competition will improve their chances of a possible double come the end of the season.
