Tema-based clearing agents Bajfreight and Logistics yesterday signed a GH¢60,000 sponsorship deal for the Greater Accra Hockey Gala competition at the Hockey Stadium.
The deal, subject to renewal, will see the freight and forwarding company injecting GH¢20,000 per year for three years.
Chief Executive of Bajfreight, Joe Biney, after putting pen to paper, indicated that the support falls in line with one of his company's ideals of a sound mind living in a sound body.
'We decided to rally behind hockey because we have realized most of the corporate bodies are focusing on football. We are seeking to roll back the days when hockey dominated,' Biney said.
The chairman of Greater Accra Hockey Association Frank Awuku , whose efforts landed the deal, pointed out that the financial support would help in putting together a gala competition on May 11.
He indicated that part of the package will go into kitting the technical team for the day as well as for trophies and souvenirs for players who will excel.
