Eric Djibo took a giant leap with his first Coca Cola win during the March Monthly medal on a net score of 71 off 8 in the Men Division. Staged on Saturday during the Easter festivities, the popular Monthly Medal attracted several golf enthusiasts to the Celebrity Golf Club.
Playing his second medal since January 2013 when he arrived in Ghana, Djibo found his winning rhythm and is obviously enjoying golf's sensation of validation.
“It's a whole new experience for me; I enjoyed the game, I'm happy for my score and hopefully will master the course even better.” He explained to The Golfer newspaper.
He sealed off a fantastic game with a lone sumptuous birdie on par- 5 fifth that saw his second shot close to the green, delivered a chip close to the pin for an easy tap-in for birdie. Streaks of 13 amazing pars helped him to maintain a decisive lead for ultimate victory despite carding 4 bogeys along the way.
Meanwhile, Kusi Bempong suffered a crushing loss on count back for second place with Mike Aggrey securing third place on a net score of 67.
Pamela Yeboa held her nerve through a relatively sun kissed day to claim a one shot victory in the Ladies Division. She appeared confident on the greens and simply awesome on the fairways.
Pamela opened her campaign with a birdie on hole one and medley of pars and bogeys to complete a remarkable round of golf for first place finish. She scored to a net of 71 off 15
Ann Brown followed with a net score of 72 ahead of Brigitte Harrington who signed off with a net of 75 for third place.
Event sponsor, Coca Cola delivered exciting prizes of medals and its range of products for winners in the various divisions.
