Black stars 2013 Port Elizabeth, Feb. 7, GNA - Bruised Black Stars will have another opportunity of restoring their pride when they lock horns with Mali in a third-place game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Ghana's quest for a fifth Nations Cup glory ended with a defeat to the Stallions of Burkina Faso in Nelspruit on Wednesday, and their only chance to return home with a measure of pride will be against Mali on Saturday.

The duel, a repeat of events at the last competition in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in 2012 will have the winner taking home bronze.

Both countries met at the group stage of the competition where Mubarak Wakaso's goal from the spot proved the difference for the Stars who went ahead to top the group.

When both meet on Saturday, Ghana will seek to avenge the 2-0 defeat to the Malians at the same stage in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

While Ghana succumbed 2-3 on penalties to Burkina Faso at the semi-final, Mali recorded their heaviest defeat yet in the tournament with a 1-4 defeat to Nigeria.

Their meeting in Port Elizabeth will be their second at the same venue in three weeks.
