Manchester United stalwart Ryan Giggs has give the world's fastest man Usain Bolt hope that he could one day play for the Red Devils.

Bolt, 25, has made no secret of his desire to represent United and has even admitted that he'd consider giving up sprinting to follow his dream.

The 100m and 200m Olympic Gold medalist appealed to the Old Tafford faithful to persuade boss Sir Alex Ferguson to give him a debut, when he was paraded ahead of the Premier League match with Fulham.

And Ferguson has admitted that he may give Bolt a run out in a friendly with Real Madrid next year.

Now Giggs, who has over 900 appearances for United, has give the sprinter fresh hope.

In dialogue with fans on United's official Facebook page, the Welshman was asked if he'd watched Bolt play.

“No I haven't, he came along to training and just watched. I wouldn't want to mark him, I know that!

“He's tall, not lacking in pace and isn't short of confidence either; he's already said he'd like to join in.”

Not lacking in pace is something of an understatement, given that the lanky runner finished the 100m in 9.58 seconds at the London Games this summer.
