Ho, Aug 31 GNA - Ho-based teams, Home Stars and Voradep Football Clubs on Sunday renewed their rivalry in the Zone 3B Division One League matchwith a local derby played at the Ho Sports Stadium, in which Stars defeated their opponents by two-goals to one.
Voradep opened the scores in the 56th minute when goalie Martin Ofori of Home Stars failed to make a one-time save of Frank Adjei's corner-kick, giving advantage to Stephen Attipoe, who was lurking in the "18" to nod the ball into the empty net.
Home Stars Issaka Razak, who was the toast of the few spectators that watched the match, equalised for his side in the 75th minute in a goal mouth melee.
Attipoe, again had the chance to increase the tally for his side in the 77th minute but fumbled in front of a yawning net, giving goalie Ofori a respite.
However, in the 80th minute, Stars Kwame Addo combined beautifully with Benjamin Kwashie and delivered a 20-metre shot which beat Voradep's goalie Abubakari Sadik.
The goal threw the supporters of Home Stars into unending jubilation.
