Kumasi, June 3, GNA – The Black Stars would go all out and play a determined game as they come up against African Champions, Zambia in their World Cup qualifier on Saturday, Coach Kwasi Appiah, in-charge of the senior national team, has said.

The match, he said, was a test case for the Stars who were beaten in the semi-finals by the Chipolopolos in the recent African Cup of Nations.

The encounter promises to be uncompromising in all departments of the game and for the Ghanaian Coach, in particular, this encounter would have to bring the best out of him having been recently appointed as Head of the technical team.

Coach Appiah passed his first litmus test with distinction, as he led the Stars to thrash Lesotho 7-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, a feat achieved in front of his own home fans.

The scenario would, however, be different as the Stars trek to meet a “wounded” Zambian side, who lost their opening World Cup qualifier 0-2 against a less-fancied Sudanese team.

Coach Appiah told GNA Sports in Kumasi after the Lesotho match that, “The Stars had put the victory behind them and are geared at putting in the necessary preparations to help the team overcome the Zambians”.

The Stars are already in camp in South Africa ahead of the encounter.

The Stars' Coach called on supporters of the team to rally solidly behind the Stars as they seek to record a convincing win against the Zambians.

With the cordial relationship between the technical team and players, many are hopeful that the Stars would excel and qualify for the World Cup Championship in Brazil, next year.
