Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has named his final 24-man squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia.
Six players, who were part of the preliminary squad named earlier this month, were left out of the team ahead of their departure to Kumasi on Sunday.
Goalkeeper Robert Dabuo of Wa All Stars, defender Masawudu Alhassan and Rashid Sumaila were among those left out.
The others players left out following the Black Stars' six-day training session are Solomon Asante, Ishmael Yartey and Emmanuel Baffour.
Coach Appiah praised the six players for their performance and commitment during the six-day training session.
“I want to thank all my players especially the six who are not part of the final team for their performance and dedication during our training sessions,” Appiah told Ghanafa.org, the official website of the Ghana Football Association.
“It was a difficult decision to take because all the players did very well in training but the squad has to be named.
“I want to assure the six players that the doors of the national team are still open for them. They should continue to work hard as they could be considered in future.”
Defender Isaac Vorsah, who is suspended for the Lesotho game, was added to the squad because he will be available for selection in the match against Zambia.
This means one central defender will be dropped before the team departs for the training camp in South Africa ahead of their clash with the Chipolopolo in Ndola.
