100 fans to support the Queens at World Cup

Accra, Aug. 20, GNA - About 100 supporters of the Black Queens will fly to Los Angeles, in the US on September 18 to give them morale support in their World Cup matches.

The trip is being sponsored by a number of American companies including Universal Shipping Company and Charlotte Fields Distributors both based in the Los Angeles.

Mr Abraham Boakye, popularly known as One Man Supporter disclosed this to the GNA Sports on his arrival from the US where he spent two weeks making preparations for the arrival of the Ghanaian supporters. Mr Boakye said the Universal Shipping Company has agreed to pick the bill of 12 supporters including their round trip, accommodation and per diem while Charlotte Fields Distributors pledged to be responsible for 10 others in the same manner.

The One Man Supporter said he got pledges from other companies amounting to 160,000 dollars which would be used to cater for the rest of the contingent.

He was full of praise for the goodwill and the high esteem Ghanaians enjoy in America saying: "It is only in America that such benevolence can be shown ... may God bless America and her good people." Mr Boakye said the supporters would wear T-shirts of the sponsoring companies to all matches involving the Queens.

The Queens opening match would be against China on September 21st at the Calson Stadium in Los Angeles.
