Police in Bawku have arrested two more suspects at Gbane in the Upper East Region in connection with the recent alleged attack on Chinese mining company.
Ten people were arrested yesterday for storming the company and destroying property worth thousands of Ghana cedis and even disrupted a groundbreaking ceremony meant to commence the construction of a bridge over a river for the Gbane community.
The twelve people are currently in police custody and are being processed for court later today.
The Upper East Regional police commander DCOP Bright Oduro says two of the ringleaders are at large.
According to him the suspects burnt down the drilling, costing over $980,000 assaulted workers of the Ghanaians Chinese companies, robbed them of their personal effects and money and destroyed properties.
“The offenses that we are contemplating robbery, causing harm, causing damage, arson,” he said, adding some of the suspects are galamsey operators.
