The Disciplinary Committee of the GFA has ruled to declare New Edubiase winners of their Round of 64 match in the MTN FA Cup competition whiles declaring B. A. United losers.
This follows a protest filed by Edubiase against B. A. United for their failure to attend the pre-match technical meeting and the match itself on the 22nd February, 2012 at the Gyamfi Park.
After a hearing which both teams attended, the Disciplinary Committee declared as follows:
- Their [B. A. United] failure to honour the match on the 22/02/12 was in our opinion pre-determined.
- Therefore hereby find that failure by B. A. United F/C to travel to Bekwai to honour the match in question was without just cause and therefore they are caught by article 34(1)h of the GFA Regulations. Article 34(3) and (5) (b) of the Regulations provide sanctions for a breach of 34(1)h.
- Having found that Article 34(1)h has been breached by Brong Ahafo United F/C, they shall forfeit the said match. This means they will be considered as having lost the match and therefore 3 goals and 3 points shall be awarded to New Edubiase United F/C.
- New Edubiase therefore qualifies to play in the next round of the competition.
