
Accra, April 15, GNA – George Ashie, Ghana's Light Wight champion, defeated Bilal Muhammed also a Ghanaian, in a Commonwealth Light Weight title fight in Accra at the weekend.
The fight ended in the second round when Ashie gave his opponent a technical knock out.
Ashie, who is also the West African and African Light Weight champion, should have fought Thompson Mokwana, a South African, in the contest, but he could not turn up.
Ashie told the Ghana News Agency after the competition that following his victory, he was poised to fight Kelvin Mitchel, World Boxing Organization Light Weight title holder.
