Edubiase takes Fight to Runaway Kotoko
30.03.2012 LISTEN

New Edubiase united is ready to take all their arsenals to the garden city this weekend as they come face-to-face with runaway league Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium as the Glo Premier league hit week 22.

The homesters are sitting on top of the ladder with a maximum 45 points whiles the visitors on the other hand is seventh on the log with 32 points. The 'Porcupine Warriors' are yet to loose a match in this second round. However, Edubiase can tore up the script if care is not taken of their goal predator Emmanuel Baffoe who leads the goal king chart with sixteen goals.

Kotoko is undoubtedly the best club in the league so far and Coach Maxwell Konadu is fortunate to have purchased former Windy Professionals and Gamba All Blacks midfielder Anaba Michael who has stolen the season like the way Usain Bolt stole the last Olympics. Anaba and Daniel Nii Adjei are the partners who have been writing the 'football Hollywood' stories for the red army this season and their combination is too deadly for any visiting team to cope.

New Edubiase has their own secret in Black Stars new-found striker Emmanuel Baffoe who can pass through any defense wall like a thread through a piddle. If the defense of Kotoko can handle the threat from Baffoe then Edubiase is doomed but if they should fail to eclipse him then Edubiase can cause havoc in Kumasi.

In formed Aduana Stars will slug it out with former continental club masters Accra Hearts of Oak at the Osagyefo Agyeman Badu's Park in Dormaa. Both Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak have 33 points but Aduana is second on the league whiles Hearts has dropped to third due to the head-to-head rule.

Aduana is tactically disciplined club and playing them at their favorite Dormaa Park on any day is a difficult text for any club to pass as it takes only the read to pass the 'Dormaa Text'. Hearts have a lot of quality midfield players but their firing power has not been the best and the sooner coach C.K Akunnor solves this problem the better for them.

However, Aduana is also facing a similar problem as most of their wins has come courtesy of their enterprising right fullback Godfred Saka whose performance has seen Aduana risen to where they are today on the league table and if they are going to rely solely on his strength against the phobian's then things could mushroom heavily against them at their own back yard.

At the Berekum Golden City Park, African Champions league campaigners, Berekum Chelsea will welcome the embattled Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs in a match which promises to be grilling to watch. Chelsea occupies the fifth spot on the table with 32 points whiles Dwarfs is ninth with 28 points.

Chelsea were quite disappointing last Wednesday as they drew with Bechem united at the Bechem Park haven't prosecuted Raja Club of Morocco by 5 – 0 three days earlier but playing at where that successful story was written should be enough motivation for Chelsea to hang Dwarfs in other to prove to the world that their win over Raja Club was no fluke.

Soccer miners, Ashantigold fc will play as host to relegation trapped Bechem united at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. Ashantigold has risen to the second position on the log within a month and have declared their intention to chasing Kotoko till the last whistle.

Bechem united is heavily indebted to the fifteen clubs as they have chalked only 17 points so far and lies coolly at the bottom of the table. As Ashantigold is poised to chasing Kotoko so is their leading marksman Yakubu Mohammed is ready to give Emmanuel Baffoe a hot chase for the goal king race. On paper, Bechem united has lost the match before hand but football is full of uncertainties.

At the Tema Community Three Park, Hearts of Lions will play as guest to Tema Youth. Tema Youth is twelfth on the table with 22 points whiles Lions is eleventh with 27 points. Things are not going on well for Lions this season as they've dropped certain vital points and playing Tema Youth on their astro turf can be an Achilles hills for Lions to climb.

Kwesi Nyantekyi's Wa All Stars will welcome relegation zoned Wassaman united to the Wa Park. All Stars is sixth on the spot with 32 points whiles Wassaman is fourteenth with 18 points.

Medeama Sporting club will play as host to Berekum Arsenal at the re furbished Tarkwa T&A Park. Medeama is tenth on the table with 28 points whiles Arsenal is fifteenth with 18 points. Medeama is steadily progressing and the return of their attacking trio (Luis Agyeman, Tanko Mohammed and Hans Kwofie) can do damage to any defense.

At the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park, the scientific soccer lads Liberty Professionals will welcome city rivals Mighty Jets. Liberty is eighth on the log with 30 points whiles Mighty Jets is thirteenth with 21 points. Liberty defeated their chief city rivals Hearts of Oak last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium and may be looking to record a win over Mighty Jets in other to earn the city bragging right.
