All is set for a grueling revenge on the road as the National Cycling Team battle the likes of Burkina Faso, La cotedivoire, Mali and Senegal in this year's 2nd edition of the Ecowas Tour which is currently underway from Lagos to Cotonou through Lome to Ada. From Ada the entourage will speed towards the Tema roundabout where the Ghana stage will be honored. From the Tema roundabout the team will head to Sekondi Takoradi and then through Abosso to la cote d, ivoire.

Before the team's departure to Lagos, the National Sports Authority boss-Mr. Worlanyo Agra admonished the boys to be resolute and disciplined since these are obvious success indicators in any sporting event. The NSA boss was of the view that with the kind of seriousness and training regimen the prestigious Yellow Jersey was surely within reach.

Among the dignitaries expected to grace the closing ceremony of the Ghana stage at the Tema Roundabout are the Director of Ecowas, the President of the Ghana Cycling Federation, Chef Du Delegations from various countries and invited media houses.

Team Ghana comprises Henry Tetteh Djangmah, of Die Hard Isaac Odonkor—aka-made in Ghana, Nuru Pardie of Die Hard, Samuel Anim of All Stars, and Aminu Mohammed of Pacesetters Cycling Club.

The Event rolls on the 15th with 90 cyclists battling for honors and indeed there is the presence of Burkinabe wizard roller—Yameogo Hamidou who is defending yellow jersey. The team on arrival at Ada on the 16th Feb. will sleep overnight and would be welcome with a gracious Mini Durbar by the chiefs and elders of Ada including the municipal chief executive of Ada and the paramount chief Nene Ada.

On the 17th of Feb. the team of cyclists will explore the rough stretch from Sogakope to the Tema roundabout in a distance of 110km where the various dignitaries including the Sports Minister Hon Kofi Humado, Ecowas Director and President of the Cycling Federation-Sahnoon Mohammed will be delivering their short addresses. After the short closing ceremony the entourage will move to Sekondi Takoradi.

The federation will however appreciate the consistent effort of wonderful Partners-Promasidor Ghana limited, Events Unlimited, I Promo, the Ghana Police Service, Immigration, Customs and the National Sports Authority in sponsoring this event.

The media and the entire public will be updated as such as the tour progresses but we need to offer a little prayer for the team as they embark on this mission.
