Black Stars must bring the cup home- CPP

Accra , Jan. 20, GNA - The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has sent a goodwill message to the senior national team, the Black Stars ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

A signed by Nii Armah Akomfrah Director of Communications of CCP copied to GNA Sports, said “As runners-up at the last Cup of Nations in Angola two years ago, the next step for our gallant boys is to bring the Cup home.

“We share in the confidence of Coach Goran Stefanovic that “the Black Stars are going to be Champions. It has been 34 years since Ghana last won this Cup.

“Yet the senior national team have since brought great pride and glory not just to Ghana but to Africans globally as well as football lovers everywhere, with their performance at tournaments including the FIFA World Cup tournaments”. The statement said.

The statement said the country expects similar performance and heroism from the brave boys. 'This time we expect their performances to be rewarded with overall victory.'
