Accra, 24th November, 2011: Global Media Alliance an International Public Relations, Media Relations, Events Management and Production Consultancy firm, and Lizzy Sports Complex, the leading private sports facility in Ghana, will organize the Private Schools Gala 2011. Slated for the first Friday in December, which also happens to be the National Farmers' Day, the event will bring together over 20 schools in the Greater Accra Region.

Scheduled to be held at the Lizzy Sports Complex, close to the A&C Shopping Mall at East Legon, the Private Schools Gala is under the theme, “for the Game; for the Youth”. The aim of the gala is to foster healthy relationships among private schools as well as explore the capabilities of the children outside the classroom. 'Most of the time, emphasis is placed on the public schools to the neglect of the private schools. We are organizing this gala to promote healthy competition among the private schools and also to get the children to have fun after a hectic academic calendar', Mr. Daniel Adjei, an Events Executive with Global Media Alliance noted.

Nana Agyeman, a trainer and Marketing Executive with Marcel Desailly Investments Limited, the parent company of Lizzy Sports Complex, expressed the company's interest in developing sports, especially soccer in Ghana. 'We support the development of sports among the youth and among children, so they can grow up in a healthy frame of mind and body. Children also learn a lot at play. We hope to sustain this collaborative effort and make it an annual event for the first Friday of December every year', he said.

The selected schools would compete in the under –twelve and under-sixteen categories. Winning schools at the various stages of the game will take away exciting prize packages. Individual deserving players will also be rewarded. All participating schools will also take away giveaways from sponsors. The event will be open to the general public.

MTN, Coca Cola, Phoenix Insurance, Eddy's Pizza, Silverbird Cinemas and Privada Water are the proud sponsors of the maiden edition of the Private Schools' Gala. Media partners for the event are e.TV, Yfm and Silverbird Cinemas.
