France's Thomasi Julien made a good time of 1hrs:44mins:52secsto lead the 4th Stage of the Tour Faso over fellow compatriots from Algeria,Germany and Holland. Ghana's Anim Samuel also made a similar time of 1hrs:44mins:51secsby a shade of a second to place a peloton finish position of 27 out of the 86 Cyclist with captain Aminu Ousman Mohammed coming through the 36th position. Henry Tetteh Djangmah followed through the 38th position with an equally bested time of 1hrs:44mins:51secs. The Race which commenced from Tenkodogo to Zorgho covered a distance of 80Km with an average speed of 45Km/hr.
Ghana placed 10th in the team classification.
The fifth stage rolled off from Kokologo to Boromo in a distance of 128.9Km clocking an entire average speed of 42Km/hr by 86 determined cyclists. Ghana's Nuru Pardie was exceptional and it was no wonder he had to unudergo a random Anti-Doping test administered by the World Governing body of Cycling-The UCI. Ghana's captain, Aminu Mohammed crowned for himself the “La Lanterne Rouge” Badge for his tenacity in the particular stage. Ghana maintained his standing on the log table.
The sixth stage was characterized by some explosive pelotonic movements which saw some early break-aways in the early minutes of take-off. This stage has been described as one of the toughest test for the cyclist as they had to cover a mammoth distance of 170.8Km with a slow-paced average speed of 37.81km/hr. The longest distance of this year's Tour saw Aminu Mohammed and Henry Tetteh Djangmah repeating the dose of their performance by leading team Ghana to a respectable dual time of 4hrs:31mins:02secs placing 22nd and 27th positions respectively.
On the other hand, Samuel Anim of Young Stars Cycling club was awarded the “La Lanterne Rouge” Badge for the 6thStage that spanned from Boromo to the second largest commercial city of Bobo Dioulasso.
In a mini-criterium race over 6 laps at the Samadeni Hydro-electric Dam site, team Captain Aminu Ousman Mohammed clung unto an obstinate finish to place a split-second position to Burkina Faso's sprint icon, Zidweiba Hamidou to take the cool second cash prize of CFA 250,000 for Ghana. The 12km addendum race was primarily meant to advertise the gross importance of the Samadeni Dam to the inhabitants of Bobo regarding irrigation and agriculture.
The 7th Stage will start from Bobo Dioulasso to the sugarcane plantation region of Banfora over an expected distance of 83.5km on Thursday 27th October, 2011.
