Taysec Open Golf championship fixed for Oct. 15

Accra, Oct. 12, GNA – The third annual Taysec Construction Company's Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, October 15.

Mr Anthony Morgan, Group Commercial Manager of Taysec Constructions Limited told GNA Sports that the competition, which used to be called Taywood Bowl has now been term the Taysec Cup following the change of ownership of the company two years ago.

He said about 120 amateur golfers and guests of Taysec are expected to participate in the 18-Hole Stableford Competition.

Mr Morgan said there would be Handicap allowances of 18 and below for the Men golfers and also 27 and below for the Lady golfers.

The competition would also feature 'Nearest to the Pin' for men and ladies on Hole-18 and 'Longest Drive on Hole'-14 for both men and ladies.

Among the golfers expected to compete for the various trophies at stake are Mike Aggrey, Dr Felix Frimpong, Sowah Oddoye and Albert Brock.

Esi Cobbina, Nana Bema Tackie, Mary Asafo Adjaye and Esther Amedzro would also battle each other for the Ladies Cup.

Mr Geoff Fisher, Chairman and Managing Director of Taysec would lead his team which includes, Andy Woods, Warren Hawkins and Anthony Morgan.

C. Brew-Aidoo and Esther Amoah would be defending the trophies which they won last year.

Mr A. Y. Abebrese, the Financial Director of the company is among officials of Taysec expected to grace the occasion.

The presence of Mr Mike Ezan, past President of the Achimota Golf Club and winner of the competition would be felt.
