
Accra, Sept. 30, GNA – The final funeral rites of the late Alhaji Ibrahim Sly Tetteh will be graced by top-notch African football greats.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) told GNA Sports that the funeral scheduled for Saturday, October 1 at the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman will be attended by the crème de la crème of African football administrators.
He said the GFA the confirmation of participation of the personalities from the rest of the continent is a testimony to the unadulterated contribution of Sly Tetteh to the development of football in Ghana and the rest of the continent.
Leading the high-powered delegation is General Seyi Memene, Honorary Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Other officers confirmed to attend are Presidents of the Football Associations of Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger, Sierra Leone, Gambia and the Cote d'Ivoire.
Nyantakyi added that a delegation from the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) amongst others will be in attendance to pay their last respects to the late President of Liberty Professionals.
Aside the continental flavor, the various sectors of Ghana football will be represented at the funeral.
Tetteh passed away on September 3 at a hospital in Cape Coast.
