Banku Weeps For Boxing

Bukom Banku

World Professional Boxing Federation light heavyweight champion (WPBF) Bukom Banku has made a clarion call on boxing officials, to as a matter of urgency establish a boxing gymnasium in the country.

To the famous boxer, the sport has placed Ghana on a high pedestal internationally, and should be accorded the needed attention saying, 'Boxing has won Ghana many World titles, but there is no gymnasium for boxing.

'The Black Stars have won Ghana no World Cup yet they get all the attention to the detriment of boxing.'

He noted that the country is blessed with a pool of boxing talents but the non-existence of a boxing gym and promotion is killing the sport.

Known in private life as Braimah Kamoko, Banku commended Victor Ahiakpor, boxing promotions' new-kid-on-the-block for coming on board to give boxing a new lease of life.
