The contractual impasse involving mobile phone service providers, Spacefon, the Ghana League Clubs Association and Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been resolved following a meeting of the warring parties this afternoon.
It was decided at the meeting that Kumasi Asante Kotoko would have the emblem of the mobile service providers in front of their jersey alongside that of the tournament organizers in the remaining matches of the LG Top Four competition.
Spacefon, official sponsors of the Porcupine Warriors, had taken a strong exception to the use of the LG logo on the front portion of Kotoko’s jerseys in their opening match against Olympics, regarding it as a breach of the 900 million cedi year long contract.
The contract gives the mobile phone company the sole right to advertise on the front of the team’s shirts.
However, GHALCA had called the bluff of Spacefon, describing their complaints as an attempt to sabotage the LG Top Four competition.
