They pledged to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them by the IMC. Arthur, on his part, said he is in full control of affairs and nothing would prevent him from moving the club forward with the support of other members of the IMC. He promised to run an open administration for the good of the club. Arthur stated that United is a traditional club that commands a big following and it would be suicidal for anybody to take it as his or her personal property.

He said he has nothing against the former administration of the club and urged members of the old administration who are members of the IMC to feel free and contribute to the development of the club. Arthur assured the players that their salaries world be improved while old players whose contracts have expired would be entered into fresh contracts. –
