
The Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Issahaku Salia has advised Basic School pupils preparing for this year's Basic Schools Inter-Regional Sports Festival to be disciplined and to make the competition competitive and exciting.
Alhaji Salia said if they discipline themselves it would help them to display their talents and win medals for themselves and the region.
The Regional Minister gave the advice to the athletes when he presented food items for the feeding of the regional team who are in camp at the Wa School for the Blind.
The food items include two bags of rice, one bag of sugar, Milo and milk.
This year's Basic Schools Inter-Regional Sports Competition which is to be hosted by the Upper West Region would start on August 30.
The Minister who was accompanied by the Regional Education Director, Mr Fabian Balieb, urged the trainers and coaches to put in their best in shaping the children's talents to enable them perform well and win medals for the region.
Mr Johnson Sabour, Headmaster of Kanton Senior High School, one of the camp trainers, thanked the Regional Minister for his kind gesture and pledged their commitment to training the children to raise the flag of the region high.
