Asamoah Gyan has arrived at Sunderland to finalise his move from French side Rennes.
The striker scored three goals for Ghana during their World Cup campaign in South Africa and impressed with a series of influential performances.
The deal is believed to be in the region of £12 million for the 24-year-old, who is due to complete his medical and agree on personal terms on Tuesday.
