Aggrey retains Milo trophy

Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior Secondary School beat Adisadel College (Adisco) 2-0 to retain for the third time, the central region inter-schools and Colleges Milo soccer Championship trophy in the final match played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Friday.

Even though Adisco lost, they were not disgraced. They matched their opponents fairly but lack of stamina affected them. Playing under the instructions of Cape Coast-based class one referee Essel Walker, Adisco started with confidence and backed by their cheering fans they took total control of the game from kick off.

Adisco dominated the first half sized the midfield and kept their opponent vital area boiling forcing the defenders of Aggrey to work overtime to keep them at bay. The second half saw both teams struggling hard for the leader but Aggrey had the urged in the attack and opened the scoring through Felix Antwi in the 61st minute while center forward Kwame Akompong made it two in the 76th minute.

Also in yet another Milo sponsored competition, Apam SSS beat Mfantsiman three straight sets.
