Accra, April 16, GNA - The Ashanti Regional Sports Associations have elected executive officers s to steer the affairs of the various associations in the Region.
The various Associations submitted a list of their elected members with their Chairmen at the Bara Yara sports stadium.
A statement signed by Francis Kpesenu, Ashanti Regional Sports Development Officer copied to GNA Sports said the election was a follow up to a meeting held with representatives of the various sports associations on April 8, 2010.
Following the meeting Chairpersons of the various associations were submitted which included Mr Mensah Amepofio (Athletics), Dr Steven Ansah-Asamoah (Volleyball), Patrick Adu-Gyamfi (Handball), Dr Samuel Owusu Afram (Basketball), Godfred Amoh (Hockey) and Akwesi Agyemang Gyembibi (Lawn Tennis).
The rest are Professor R. T. Awuah (Table Tennis), Alhaji Issah Adams (Taekwondo), A.Z. Mohammed (Cycling), Oteng Sefah (Karate), Charles Oppong (Badminton) and Dr Opoku Buabeng (Boxing).
