MTN employees, valued subscribers, and business partners last weekend embarked on a health walk of 14 kilometers, from the Accra Mall to the Aviation Social Center, to raise funds for the reconstruction of Haiti.
This awareness, through the health walk, is to sensitise subscribers and also stake holders in the telecommunications industry, to come to the aid of Haiti, by donating generously to Africa for Haiti (WWW.africaforhaiti.com).
The Africa for Haiti campaign was launched by African leaders, such as Grace Machel and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, at the Nelson Mandela Foundation on 22nd January this year.
The AG Human Resource Executive of MTN, Mrs. Gloria Adjei, observed that the health walk was an opportunity to urge subscribers and Ghanaians at large, to support all efforts aimed at raising funds for Haiti, noting, “We have already started donating in earnest, and we are therefore encouraging all and sundry to support this worthy project.” Prior to the walk, MTN launched the “MTN for Haiti Campaign”. This campaign for Haiti is taking place concurrently in all 21 operating units of MTN.
Subscribers are being urged to support Haiti, by texting the word “Haiti to MTN short code 1966.
Each text costs GH¢1.25, and donors can also make payment to a special account numbered 1070000021053, held at the Fidelity Bank, under the account name “MTN for Haiti,” in addition, money can be transferred using Mobile Money Account number 0246300324.
