The Minister of Youth and Sports, Honourable Akua Senaa Dansua, has told the National Under-20 Football Team, the Black Princesses that they have “excited the entire football loving nation and drawn goodwill and best wishes towards all your efforts in the 2010 Germany world Cup campaign, as well as to your future in football career,” a statement signed by Mr Kofi Aggrey, PR Manager for the minister has said.

In a congratulatory message to the players, the management, and the technical bench of the Black Princesses Football Team the Minister said the 2 – 0 win, emphasizes their determination as Ghana's under 20 women's team to contribute to the nation's remarkable successes in sports in recent times.

“Your heart warming victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo in far away Kinshasa has indeed brought it home to all of us how serious you are as Ghana's representatives in international sports, and we believe it will not be long before you also carve Ghana's name with pride.

“There is no doubt, Princesses, that you will endeavour still to do well to win the second leg just as convincingly, on home soil, to qualify for the 2010 Women's World Cup Football Tournament in Germany, where Ghana expects you to emulate the Black Satellites and others.”

Honourable Dansua assured the handlers and players of the Ministry and Government support throughout the campaign, and expressed the “hope that the whole of Ghana will stand solidly behind you as you make this first appearance on the world scene with your own special skills and talents to add something more to our nation's glory;” while she asked for God's guidance and blessings for the team.
