Assin Fosu, (C/R) Jan. 6 GNA - The Central Regional Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, (GFA) Mr Mathew Doe has advised members of the Regional Referees Association to work hard to qualify for the FIFA referee badges.

Mr Doe gave the advice when members of the Assin District Referees Association honoured two of its members for their dedicated services to the Association at an annual get-together at Assin Fosu.

They are Mr Francis Asante, Deputy District Chairman of the Association and Mr Alex Kweku Appiah, Central Regional Vice Chairman of the Association.

The two officers were each presented with Kente clothes as their prizes.

Mr Doe regretted that to date the Central Region has no FIFA referee and appealed to up-and-coming referees to work harder to gain promotion to the rank of a FIFA referee.

He advised members of the Association to eschew bribery and to expose team officials who might attempt to bribe them during football matches.
