Cape Coast, Dec. 21, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers started the Division One League on a bad note when they drew 1-1 with Winneba Windy Professionals in their match played at the Robert Mensah stadium, Cape Coast on Sunday.
It was Windy Professionals who started the game strongly and dictated the pace and went ahead in the 10th minute when Abubakar Salis scored the opener with a perfect shot.
Salis after collecting a mid field pass disposed of two defenders in a row before lobbing the ball past an on-rushing Vipers goalkeeper.
Vipers forced the tide in their favour and after persistent pressure on Windy Professionals they earned a penalty for midfielder Eric Osei to get the equalizer.
Vipers nearly carried the day through another spot kick but Eric Osei's shot hit the posts and rebounded into play.
Results of other League matches were, Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs drew 0-0 with Feyenoored 0 while Medeama spanked Sekondi Metro Stars 2-0.
