
Fulham defender John Pantsil has recevied Ghana highest award for a player after being named the country's best footballer for 2008.
The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) named the England-based on Sunday after a votes by the country's sports jounralists.
The Premier League player beat off competition from Inter Milan ace Sulley Muntari and Egypt-based striker Eric Bekoe.
But the former Kotoko striker Bekoe managed to scoop two awards including local league's best player and the top Scorer for the 2007/8 local league season.
Teenage prodigy Aaron Amoah of second tier side Tudu Mighty Jets was named the country's best young player following his exploits with the country's U17 team.
Florence Dadson was named the female Discovery of the Year after excelling with Ghana's U19 team at the World Cup.
