Owu pitches for Nations Cup
Egypt-based goalkeeper George Owu believes he can earn a place in Milovan Rajevac's final squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in the New Year.
The Al Masry first choice shot-stopper claims he has shrugged off a recent dip in form that saw him lose his position in the national team during the qualifiers.
Last week he saved two penalty kicks and hopes replicating such displays will catch the eyes of coach Rajevac.
"I can't praise myself but what I can say is that I have improved and ready to justify my call-up into the national team," Owu is quoted as saying in All Sports Newspaper.
"Angola will be a nice platform and I have worked for that. This should my time to let Ghanaians trust me as a goalkeeper."
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is still finding a third choice goalkeeper following the exploits of young goalie Daniel Agyei.
