Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac says he wants to use the African Cup of Nations as a double-edged sword for the Black Stars.

 
The Serbian says he wants to win the tournament to restore pride to the wounded side and also use the competition to prepare for the World Cup.

Ghana last won the African Cup of Nations in 1982 and the Serbian thinks it is the right time to conquer the continent once against to restore its rightfyl place in African football.

"It is the right time for us to win the African Cup of Nations - and we will also benefit in another way," Rajevac told Ghanasoccernet.

"As we are in a good position to win the Nations Cup we will also use it to prepare thew side well for the World Cup.

"This is an opportunity other countries at the World Cup don't have. We will use it effectively.

"But first I want to concentrate on the Nations Cup because we are bent on winning it.

"The last time we won it was in 1982 so we want to win it again and tell Africa that we are back."

Ghana have been drawn in Group B of the African Cup of Nations to play Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Togo.

 
Black Stars have won the African Cup of Nations title four times.
