Golf Day Classic scheduled for Dec. 12

Tema, Dec. 7, GNA — This year's Golf Day Classic and Family Fun Fair would tee off at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, December 12.
Mr Oswald Amuzu, Competition Secretary of the Celebrity Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Monday, said the event which was open to amateur golfers throughout the country, would be co-sponsored by Women's World Banking Ghana, Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, Exp. Ghana Limited and F.C. Perfumery.
He said the event which would be in its second year, was aimed at bringing together golfers and their spouses to socialize and make friends and also strengthen the already existing cordial relationship among the golfers.
Mr Amuzu said about 120 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18 Hole Stable-ford event which has full handicap as the entry requirements.
Among an array of golfers expected to participate in the competition are Larry Chinbuah, Ernest Kumi, Martin Osei, Kwasi Tumi, Emmanuel Quarcoo and Abed Botchwey, all of the Celebrity Golf Club.
Michael Aggrey would lead the Achimota team which would include Gilbert Morgan, Dan Dennis, Matthias Dorfe, Daniel List and Charles Tabi.
Kweku Okyere, Paul Owusu-Baah, E.T. Mensah, Alex Fiagomey and William Asiedu Yeboah are expected to feature for the Tema Country Golf Club.
The Competition Secretary said there would also be Pool Table, Basketball and Swimming competitions as well as facial, oil and traditional massages for the children.
