Kumasi Asante Kotoko have threatened to report the conduct of Kessben FC to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following an illegal pursuit of winger .
In a strong-worded message, Kotoko's Public Relations Officer, Ali Maradona, described the move by their regional rivals as 'hypocritical'.
Coffie handed in a transfer request to officials of the club but Kotoko have issued a 'hands off' warning to Kessben.
Ali Maradona said: "We are very furious with the way Kessben have been trying to induce Coffie and we will resist it with all the venom in us to ensure the proper thing is done”
"How on earth could a player send in a transfer request when Kessben have not made any formal bid for the player? We find that very insulting.
"Kessben must by now know how to buy a player and this tactics will not work and we will report them to the authorities if we have to.”
The winger is said to be unhappy with the limited playing time handed him by head coach of Kotoko, Paa Kwesi Fabin.
Kessben coach Bashir Hayford is believed to be an admirer of the 22-year-old and could swoop for him during the transfer window. Ghanasoccernet
