Accra, Nov. 19, GNA - The Ghana Beach Sports Association (GBSA) will on November 28 and 29, organize a "Media Beach Soccer Cup competition" as part of efforts to promote beach sports in the country.
The event, under the sponsorship of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Healthy Life Fruit Drinks, Voltic Ghana Limited, Stone Strong Lager and FedEx Express is aimed at promoting beach sports among media practitioners in the country.
Over 25 media houses are expected to participate in the two day event.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Chairman of the (GBSA) who launched the event, said the move is to bring together media practitioners to understand the rules and regulations governing beach sports.
He noted that promoting Beach Sports among media practitioners will help them help popularized the sport in the country.
Mr Ampofo said GBSA is keen on putting Ghana on the international scene in terms of beach sports.
Mr Worlanyo Agrah, Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Council (NSC) said the Council is ready to provide the needed assistance to the Association to promote the game in the country.
He therefore called on corporate bodies and other stakeholders to support the event as well as the development of other sporting disciplines in the country.
