Essipong, (W/R) Nov. 18, GNA - Visiting Berekum Arsenals on Wednesday pipped Sekondi Eleven Wise 1-0 in their sixth Week Glo Premier League match played at the Sekondi Sports Stadium at Essipong.
Wise began to shine soon after kick off and it took a dent of hard work by the defence of Arsenals to keep the ambitious strikers of Wise at bay.
They continued to dominate proceeding in the first half with Arsenals also occasionally counter-attacking upfront.
After the recess, Wise again bounced into action but lost about six clear scoring chances with the visitors under sustained pressure.
On a number of occasions Wise had a difficult time containing Arsenals anytime they attacked but had few scoring chances in between as compared to Wise.
The only goal which was scored by Salu Yakubu through a penalty awarded Arsenals in the 85th minute was contested by the home side to no avail.
The kick was tactically taken by Yakubu, captain of Arsenals with the ball landing safely into net without any difficulty.
After the goal, Wise went all out and played tooth and nail in search of the equalizer but to no avail as the visitors stood solidly to defend their goal to the final whistle.
