Wise hit with transfer ban and fine

The Ghana Football Association has imposed a two-year transfer ban on Glo Premier League Eleven Wise and a hefty fine for illegally dismissing Edmund Sakyi from the club.

The Sekondi-based were found guilty of maltreating the player and 'inhumanely' terminating his contract with the club.

The club have been ordered to pay the player US$20,000 in addition to their two transfer–window ban.

Sakyi played an instrumental role for Wise in their league's survival last term playing 26 out of 30 matches in the top flight.

But he was shockingly axed from the team under acrimounous circumstances which impelled him to report the conduct of the club and won at a disciplinary committee hearing.

Wise were hoping for a reversal of the ruling but the Appeals Committee upheld the sanctions.
