Custom Exercise and Preventive Service (CEPS) dream of participating in the forthcoming African Clubs championship slated for Kenya, next month, is hanging by the thread, following their lack of funds, according to officials.
CEPS emerged tops in last season's league, and are gearing up for the championship, but the “no money syndrome” seems to have crept into the team's camp, making the players worried.
This has stirred the skipper of the side, Ebenezer Frimpong to appeal to their officials as well as other corporate bodies to rally behind them to enable them participate in the competition. “We, the playing body are doing our part, and we believe we should get the needed financial assistance, since we will live up to expectation,” said Frimpong in an interview.
The championship is expected to push off on December 12 in Nairobi, Kenya. Other clubs expected to participate in the championship are the Ghana Commercial Bank's hockey side, while Extinguishers of Fire Service and Prison's Reformers represents the ladies.
