Kessben Still Lead Premiership
Kessben FC continued their dominance of the Glo Premier League when they won 4-3 away at the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi yesterday against home side Hasaacas.
In a thrilling match that produced seven goals, the Kumasi-based club put up a world-class performance to defeat their opponents who lost their first home match of the season.
The win kept 's side at the summit of the league table.
In Accra, Liberty Professionals produced a great performance to thrash Kumasi Asante Kotoko 3-1 at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium.
Poor goalkeeping on the part of Eric Nii Baah gave the Dansoman-based club two goals.
The win puts Liberty in third place with 10 points though they are at par with Ashgold who won 2-0 against Eleven Wise at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Kotoko are 10th with six points.
Ashgold recovered from last week's 1-2 loss to Great Olympics in Accra to defeat the Western Show Boys Eleven Wise who are yet to find their rhythm in the ongoing league.
Wise are now placed 14th on the league table with four points; but Coach C. K. Akunnor would have to work hard if he wants to survive as coach of the club.
At Cape Coast, Accra Hearts of Oak won 1-0 against debutants New Edubiase at the Swidu Park.
Striker Dong Bortey ensured victory for the Phobians in his second match of the season when he scored the only goal of the match in the second half.
Hearts are now placed 8th on the league standings with seven points, while New Edubiasie are 11th with six points.
