Seasoned Ghanaian coach Cecil Jones Attuquayfio has ''knighted'' Sellas Tetteh for winning the Fifa Under-20 World cup trophy.
The veteran coach conferred the title "Sir" on his former assistant at Liberty Professionals, a title he earned from the fans after winning the Caf Champions League with Hearts of Oak and the Super Cup.
He was named the 2000 Caf Coach of the Year for his exploits and qualified Benin for their first African Nations Cup finals in 2004.
"Not only has he made history as the first African country to win the U-20 World Cup, but has made a strong case for black coaches in general and local coaches in particular," Attuquafio said at a ceremony.
Tetteh, affectionately known as Borbor, claimed he consulted the experienced coach before leaving for the tournament in Egypt.
"I consulted coach Attuquayfio before going to Egypt, he prayed for me and gave me his blessings," he said."I have many titles and nicknames, but I think the title "Sir" surpasses them all."
