The Michael Essien Foundation will be launched in Accra next month to raise money for the deprived in his hometown of Awutu Breku.
The Chelsea star says even though will be concentrated in his place of birth, it will be expanded to other parts of Ghana in future.
A charity dinner to launch the foundation will be held on 15 th November at the State Banquet Hall in Accra.
Ghana's vice-president John Mahama as well as Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and other football stars will help launch the foundation at the event.
There will also be an auction on the night to raise funds for the foundation and Essien's 2009 Charity Shield winners jersey will be one of the items on sale.
