Cas dismisses Tema Youth

The Court of Arbitration for Sports has thrown out the case of Ghanaian Premier League side Tema Youth contesting their demotion from the top flight last term.

The Tema-based side slipped into the drop zone after being ducked 12 points for fielding an unqualified player which they never recovered from.

A decision they claim was harshly handed and were battling what they described as 'unfair judgment".

Tema Youth were seeking that the world's renowned sports arbitration to reverse the punishment meted to them back home and reinstated for the Glo Premier League.

They appealed and lost in the corridors of the Ghana Football Association and decided to pursue the matter.

Cas' decision means the opening fixtures for the local league will go ahead as planned.
