French second division side Arles-Avignon have signed Ghanaian winger Andre Dede Ayew on loan from Marseille.

The 19-year-old sealed the season-long deal just hours before the transfer window closed in France.

Arles , who are joint leaders in Ligue 2, are keen on the Ghana youth captain to boost their ranks.

Ghanasoccernet broke the news last that Arles made an offer to Ayew's club Marseille last week in a bid to sign him on a permanent deal.

But Marseille opted to send him out on loan as he was told of limited first team opportunities with the Ligue 1 club.

Marseille were given until the end of last week to respond to the offer but they only managed to do it on Monday night.

Marseille were seeking an outright buyer for the player but Arles could only afford a one-year loan deal.

Ayew went on trials with German side Hertha Berlin but he was not offered a deal.

This is a real chance for him to get active before the start of the World Youth Championship in Egypt this month.

Ayew, who was on loan to French club Lorient last season, has a contract with Marseille until 2011.
