Agogo begins Apollon career

Agogo joined Apollon last week

Ghana striker Junior Agogo will begin his career with Cypriot side Apollon Limassol on Monday after arriving in the country last night.

The 30-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the club last Wednesday as he seeks to regain his place in the Black Stars.

He will train with his team-mates for the first time before completing his house search later on in the day.

Agogo's new deal follows an acrimonious exit from Egyptian club Zamalek.

Agogo joined Zamalek in July last year from English club Nottingham Forest but fell out with the Cairo club seven months later over huge fines imposed on him.

Since then he lost his Black Stars place even though he is still the joint leading scorer with Matthew Amoah in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers with four goals apiece.
